Just like to thank you all for the welcome.
My love of the outdoors started when I was 6 and it has never wavered.I have worked in forestry,been a country ranger and travelled and wild camped in New Zealand , Australia and Israel.At 32 I met and marry my present wife , we have 4 children . Our holidays are spent on campsites but I am trying to get the wife to be more adventurous .I would like to learn the skills of bushcraft.I did not realise that it had such a following .I will have to attend a course and hope to attend the meet later this year.
Could you recommend a good book to start with?

i would recommend "essential bushcraft" by Ray Mears or "the sas survival handbook" by John "Lofty" Wiseman. hope to see you at the summer meet in wales.
