I have recently come into possesion of some sheet material which I think will be suitable to use for the construction of a sleeping Hammock. Its from a garden gazebo and is green and is of a reasonable weight. What I am looking for is a set of paterns or plans for a basic hammock. I m looking for something thats a rectangular shape that shows eylet positioning and edge stiching details.
If you have come across anything like this while 'surfing' etc I would be most greatful. Thanks Guys

If you PM Neil1 he can give you some plans for a Thai Hammock, he had previously written an article on how to make them, have a chat with him about materials as well, he is quite knowledgeable about making your own kit :)

Here's an interesting page -- no sewing required.

You should also check out Ed Speer's site and material:

Here is Neil1's Thai Hammock (http://www.bushcraftuk.co.uk/200/thai_hammock.html) article that Leon-1 mentioned. :) Hope that helps.

Thinking of making a thai hammock, specially as the missus has a nice sewing machine I can borrow. Just interested as to know what other people have used as the material for the hammock?
