I am pretty new to bushcraft and just fancied asking you others ''What do you pack in your rucksack for a weekend away?
I know that different trips will mean taking different items but i just wanted a general idea.
I seem to have the same issue as others of a heavy rucksack but everything i take with me gets used.
I'm only a newbie, but would like to share my weekend pack:
Water: 2l of Water :D
Food: 1kg pack of Buckwheat (usualy too much), sausage (i case of nothing cought) and 200g margarine (good for all sorts of dishes)
First Aid Kit: bondages and simple medicine in case of emergency, plasters for often knife bites (very important)
Clothing: one set on me, one lighter set in a bag (waterproof)
Sharps: I like taking axe, bushie, saw (very light Fiskars), ckooked knife for carving.
Utility: Pot, bowl, spoon, tarp, sleeping bag.
By now it's quite heavy but i can walk with it for hours without rest.
Extra: folding shovel, some booze, project stuff
Need to get: bivi bag as you call it (sleeping bag is under a lot of stress without it), a nice mat, or hammock.
I've just packed for an overnighter, so the only "extras" for a longer trip would be food & water and some clothing.
