Hello Guys and Gals,

I recently bought HotBox self-heating meals, with the convenience in mind for this year's Norjam - knowing there are tight rules on fires and gas cooking equipment.

I plan on reviewing the product throughout Norjam, and will post my review on here. In the meantime, I created this "How to" video about the usage of HotBox meals.

Enjoy!

Nope Calcium oxide (quick lime) and a water pouch me thinks... That would produce a really strong exothermic reaction to heat a tin of pasta etc....

You'd have to be pretty carefull I would think not to get a shard of the Calcium Oxide Tile in your eye when you break it up..

That would sting a bit...

You would also have to keep the box pretty dry I would think...

Heinz made self heating soup and meals in WW2, often used by tank crews IIRC

Hotbox are good, I've tried the older meals in a round can, not bad at all but small(ish) portion size so take bread with you.
