Hi everyone

I stumbled across this website and can't believe there's so many other people out there who are interested in the same stuff I am.
I am stuck living in Central London - I grew up out in the country, but have married the most city-loving of city girls and can see it taking decades to get her out of the urban jungle. In the mean time I make any breaks I can for the woods. I am lucky I have a mate who's just as interested in bushcraft as I am - we've kind of bumbled along learning what we can as we went and improvising more often than not. Finally though we've agreed to get some decent help before our bad habits become too fixed and are off on the fundamental bushcraft course this summer at woodlore.
Anyway once we've done that we hope to be getting out and about and the BCUK meets seem like the perfect kind of thing we'll be heading for so I hope to see many of you face to face sometime soon.

All the best
Martyn

Hi Martyn

Welcome to the forum - there are loads of people here who think like you do so you're bound to fit in. Sure lots of people have the same problem with their better half as you - I know I do :)

Hi Mate, great to have you, you’ve now realised that there are loads of people interested in Bushcraft, it’s a great feeling knowing that there’s others that feel the same way, hopefully this will feel like a home from home for you!

Your wife will come round over the years….well, maybe See if you can get her to one of the meets as well, there’s quite a few wives that come!

Good news on the Woodlore course, you’ll love it and you’ll be eager for more, let us know how it goes.

Have a good one

What is it about London girls, eh? We have a great compromise- I go off and buy expensive boots and walk miles in the mud in them, she buys ridiculously expensive pointy shoes, that she can't walk at all in. I go and spend my weekends forageing in the woods, she spends her weekends foraging on Oxford Street...

Works for us!
