View Full Version : Prize Draw
Ok I need your help folks!
I'm going to be doing a newsletter soon but I need to test the mailing list system before going live and I'd like you to help out.
Subscribe to the mailing list by clicking here (newsletter@lakelandbushcraft. co.uk) and sending the message with the subject subscribe
You'll then receive a confirmation email which you will need to reply to.
Subscribers will be entered in to a prize draw which will be a Standard Guyot bottle and a GSI H2JO thingy.
I'll do the draw next week on Tuesday.
Thanks for your assistance.

Done :) Do we add the {brackets} when sending the code, it said to send it unchanged?
Cheers
Ive done it as well, hope it came through OK as its my work email address...
ATB, Jon.
On the first email I just sent a blank email with subscribe as the subject, in the second I just clicked on reply.
seems to work for me, ~ATB JOhnC
Hmm, Done it I think.
Got the confirmation email, and just hit 'reply' then send and did not remove or change anything. Not the clearest or most obvious instructions how how to go about it. But thats the point of this too :D?
spoke too soon, i get :
Mailing list subscription confirmation invalid
"Your attempt to confirm the joining of a mailing list 'newsletter' has failed.
Please reply to the original message sent from the mailing list including the unique code contained within that message.
If you do not wish to join this mailing list then you need do nothing and you will automatically be removed."

Confirmed...but i did have to take a chance on whether to copy and paste the code into the reply mail or just hit reply...I chose wisely it seems ;)
Worked for me, cheers! :)

Just reply to the email, you don't need to add or extract anything - just like Shredded Wheat!
Most subscribers will be added directly from my database and won't see those emails but some people will no doubt subscribe this way.
Thank you everyone for taking part!

Nope... doesn't work.
What I should have said was I get the Oulook Express Wizard that wants to install itself on to my PC which I don't really want to go through the hassle of doing

The html should just start up your default email program - whatever that is. It works for me using Mozilla.
Are you just using web based email such as hotmail or googlemail?

Yes, I use Yahoo.com for all emailing
I know you said you didn't want to, but if you did install outlook, you can set it to handle you yahoo account.
Yes, I use Yahoo.com for all emailing
That'll be it then, windows is looking for an email program and not finding one it tries to install one.
To sign up just use your yahoo wassname to send an email to the newsletter@ address with the subject line subscribe and Robert's your Dad's brother.

Newsletter came through for me too.
I was unable to sign up with my google account, so tried my hotmail account which also failed.
But i managed to sign up with my work email. i would rather my google account is signed up, is there any reason why this did not work?
cheers

Possible that those accounts consider it spam. I'm going to transfer my domain in the near future which may (or may not!) help.
I can manually add your google address if you want to get the newsletters.
Got the newsletter...looks promising.

Nope just tried again no luck attachment just shows as mime-attachment Jpeg looks fine but links like click here and shop etc have no effect. Could it be a Mac specific problem?, might be solved if newsletter was a PDF or HTML instead of a Jpeg ?

Fizzy are you opening yours with the Mac mails program Looks like a postage stamp icon with a bird on it?
No, I'm using Yahoo Webmail

mmmm if I open it in my webmail I don't get the newsletter showing and if I down load and open the link it links to your Facebook page. weird
To summarieze no lick on my webmail using safari, using the Mac equivalent of outlook (the mail Program) letter looks fine but is a jpeg and the links don't work
any other mac users tried opening using mail?
cheers
