View Full Version : Is it Possible to Search PM Inbox?
I have been trying to find a message in my inbox but its quite full i have trawled the pages... is it possible to search for message from a specific user? :wave:

there doesn't seem to be the option to.
perhaps it's an extra mod that would need to be installed.
With the hassle of upgrading with all our existing mods to the board, I don't think it's a good idea.
All i can think is:
Perhaps try and download the whole lot as text and then open them up and search with a text editor?
It's at the bottom right corner of the PM page
"Download all Private Messages as :
XML | CSV | Text "
Just tried it, seems to work well!

Yeah, that's what I do, it's a pain trawling through a couple of thousand PM's to find somthing you think is there, but not sure! :biggthump
Sorry for trawling this one up again but is there a better way of searching PMs yet ?

I literally get hundreds but am limited like everyone else in how many I can store......just found one from you neatly tucked into a folder to be dealt with :o sorry.
I think this question might best be sent to Admin to see if they have any ideas.

Could mods have split PM boxs or a special general moderators inbox for forum issues?
Like a pm to toddy about nalbinding goes to toddy's personal box, and a general moderation question goes into a moderators box which all the mods could answer and read. I am not sure how well it would respected, by those that take being moderated personally, but its nice to be able to talk to an mod about intresting stuff sometimes.
