View Full Version : north wales(flintshire)/chester
I'm a 21 year old part time web design student.
I was wondering if there is a group for north wales? I'm near wrexham and Mold. Llangollen and Chester are close by.
At the moment I mainly do foraging if anyone would like to join me let me know. I mainly go for easy to identify stuff. In the past I have done and really enjoyed a few bushcraft trips.
My other hobbies are snowboarding, photography, walking, cycling and organic gardening.
I'm in Mold, and would be well up for meetups / skills sharing / camps etc
i am in Llangollen area, would be up for meets, when i return from NZ.

hi if you have a meet i am well up for one i live in buckley flintshire my e-mail is firstname.lastname@example.org please give me a shout
Well I've just moved into the area and got to say am in love with the countryside round here. Would be interested in meeting likeminded souls round here, as I've dusted off my bivi bag and tarp so am always good to go.
I'm only gutted that when house hunting my other half completely dismissed a house in Glyn Ceiriog which had about an acre and a half of woodland attached to it.... Something to do with the house falling down, women eh?
I'll be lazy and just copy and paste my reply to the other NE Wales thread :-)
Did this ever come off? I'm returning to the forums after spending waaaay too much time on UKClimbing...
I live north of Ruthin, and working on getting permission for several sites, including a 14 acre site just south of here. I'll post when i have some more details, but it's looking good.
I'm also one of the officers for the local Mountain Rescue team so i get to see some odd and hidden parts of North East Wales and i'd be keen to meet up with some like-minded folks.
If you have gone out this weekend, make sure you look towards Moel Famau on Sunday night - BIG light show etc in celebration of the bi-centenary of the laying of the foundation stone for the Jubilee Tower...
P.S. aledge - I think we've met before!
Just to update: I've got a bit of woodland (14 acres) now if we want to get the ball rolling...
That sounds good mate, I'm definitely up for it, but can't do anything for the next few weeks, am currently working 6 on 2 off covering a lucky sod on holiday in florida, then same again beginning of December, but I hope this takes off been far too long since I've been able to get out
I'm still in - a lot of scouting on at the moment but a few free weekends :)
Maybe get something sorted for December? A bit cold but i'm sure we'll manage...
How about a meet up one night in a pub hereabouts?
I am Up for it, I think just put a date out and see what we get, your not going to accommodate everyone when its comes to dates. Never slept out before so it would be all new to me. A virgin. if it goes ahead I will be asking all sorts or Q: about what to bring. I could probably supply the food if you all like rabbit and pheasant.
I'm up for December and have done a number of winter camps. November is booked to the hilt but December is not too bad :)
How about the weekend of the 11-12th December?
busy all day on the 11th but might manage a splash and dash on the night of the 11th?
Or how about the 18/19th? :)
18-19th i'm meant to be working, but that may get binned what with all of the white stuff lying about the place!
How quick a splash and dash? Before dark?
their is a few of us from the manchester area, i know i am about 40mins away from north wales.
my kind of splash an dash is after dark :)
Sorry Dom, i've been offered a bit of freelance work last-minute and can't afford to turn it down at this time of year! Next weekend any better for you?
which one is best for you then Shingsowa?
Arrrg, the snow has conspired against me again! With the forecasted dump of white stuff, i expect to be spending the weekend driving around in my 4x4, dressed in red and black and helping fair maidens (or farmers, more likely!) and not getting much sleep.
I love winter...
Anybody planning a meet soon ?
Steve, is that you?
