They had loads in the stockport store today. Great value at £19.95 with 2 poles included.

These seem to disappear from the shelves in the summer (well, they did when I wanted one)

Good bit of kit for the price. Big tarp and includes poles, cord and pegs! Never seen the green one in Sheff though.

I used one but after for about 10 trips it started to show signs of wear. Worth the money though. I didn't use the poles and I swapped the guys for para cord. I prefer the British Army Basha as they are extremely durable.

so - good for a novice? Was reading that thread about Polish poncho tents so was thinking of that maybe?

Yeah, my first one was a Decathlon. Not bad for the price - great for basic configurations but a bit short of mounting options if you want to try any more advanced - easily fixed with a couple of extra loops

Bought one almost 2 years ago and it's still going strong so I'm not planning to replace it any time soon. I pimped it to add extra loops and ridge loops so I could try different pitches. I'm going to be giving it a coat of fabsil or equivelant this spring and it ought to last me another year or 2 at least.

Not bad value at all for £19.95 :)

I've got one. Bit heavy, all in, but a decent tarp and often gets packed when I go away somewhere.

"We can now deliver across the whole of the UK ..." from the Decathelon website

No they can't unless the west coast of Scotland is no longer part of the UK

It's a good tarp at a good price, not just for a novice either.
It'll last you for years, and comes with all the bits and pieces you'll need. all packaged in a hand stuff sack.
I'd recommend it
I use one myself as an extension when I'm building a base camp, or for SWMBO's hammock when she comes out to play.
