View Full Version : Tipi poles if you want them
Hi everyone, I'm clearing a small wood plantation of pines and will have some trees that might be of use as tipi poles. Here are some wind falls that I have cleared already http://www.pickleimages.co.uk/trees.html We are not asking much, just a contribution to help restore this wood with more native trees for the area. We are near Gatwick and it would be collection only.
Or if anyone can think of other uses for them - I'm open to suggestions.
No takers? I'll see if I can't make some kind of rustic post and rail out of them. Shame, would have liked to see them go to better use.

If only I had transport to collect them, they would be ideal for a skin on frame kayak that I am planning to make.
Wish I could offer to deliver, but our landy is not the most reliable and drinks far too much to make it worth the journey.
Got any ideas on what else I might use them for? Such a shame to let the wood go to waste. But if we are going to get it back to a "real" wood, they've got to come out. Not enough for a timber mill to be interested and access is limited.
Will have to keep at least 2 of them alive, they're my hammock tie-offs.

A bit late I know, but if you still have the poles I'll take them off yer hands..have just been given a tipi canvas as a wedding pressie and now I need about 15-17 poles about 25ft in length....drop me a line if you still have them cheers
Cool, let me get up in the wood and see if we've got that sort of number for you and when we can drop them, nesting birds and all that. Do you have means to transport them as we can't deliver I'm afraid.
