hi guys,
im looking for a hip pack of similar design to plce webbing, but without the millitary look. snugpak response pack seems very small, the north face sport hiker looks good but at £40 seems expensive for a "make do".
any other options, ideas?
regards Chinook

Love mine to bits, as I can can all my summer overnight gear in it and not have to worry about a sweaty back from carrying a rucksac.

Anything bigger than the response pack and it will realistically be too heavy for waist carry as the weight isn't spread like it is with belt order. Maxpedition do some bigger ones though, and the clones of them can be found on fleabay

I have been struggling for a slightly larger shoulder/waistmounted bag to partner my snugpak responsepak. The responsepak is great...but rather small for all my possibles (maybe I'm just a bad packer). I have just bought one of these today http://www.endicotts.co.uk/product_info.php?cPath=75&products_id=1946 and seems to fit the bill when used in combo. It has two external pockets (1x2 dimensional, 1x3 dimensional), a small internal pocket with holders for small items and a couple of elastic keepers inside the lid and one in the base. It has a shoulder strap and a waist strap(leg strap?) with good quality nexus buckles and also a waistmounting fixture which I am pretty sure will go on a load-bearing belt but also might slip into MOLLE webbing on the outside of a rucksack. At £5.95 new you cannot complain really.
