Hi to all!

I´ve made some Modifications to knives, which I want to show you now!

At first there is my "new" folding knife (Opinel No.9, Carbon steel) which I´ve modded a little bit.......
New handle form
Droppoint blade
stained darkbrown

Next there is a Mora:
Blade: laminated Steel
blade lenght: 11cm
handle: walnut
fingerguard: stainless steel

I´ve made the handle out of a walnut piece, the little rest of the wood goes into a handle for a small firesteel........

Blade: Stainless Steel (12C27 high polished)
Blade lenght: 8cm
handle: stabilized Box elder burl - Leather - Hickory - Leather - Box elder burl

amazing how wood can transform a mora from a good blade attached to a lump of junk into a decent knife. Good job

Thank you very much for your kind words.......really appreciate it!

Moras are great for training purpose on making knives.
The blades are very cheap, good steel, nice size, and the best Moras are just great Knives. Some hate it, but the most love it - as I do!

really looking forward to see some of your modifications of any knives you´ve done.

How do you get the old handles off?
Is there a tried and tested (and safe) method?

Do you have any pics of the blades and how you get the handles on them?

You can buy the blades alone - which I´ve done.
This is the best way of doing stuff like this - one blade costs about 10GPB.

but if you want to get rid off the plastic handle - I think its the best way to cut off one side of the plastic handle with a saw.

The blades are looking like this if you buy them:

Thanks for the quick reply, what method of glueing do you use?

I am going to have a go at a handle when I pick up a few cheap Moras.

I´m glueing everything with a 5min. Epoxy and also place a locking Nut at the end of the tang (where I first make a winding) or either I set a rivet - or even both for extra strenght :D

Hope this helps

Looks very tactile.
