Hi everybody,
today me and my wife decided to spend our St. Valentino's Day (or at least a part of it :-) walking next to a little river, named Stizzon, not so far from our house. This was a good excuse for me to do any test with my Jarno Movilli Custom Bowie. Any specs of the knife: blade lenght 7", steel A2, handle Amboina wood and SeaCow, construction hidden tang. Jarno have done this knife for me any months ago, but I ever had time to test it properly...this situation need to be fixed ;) ....
Well, let's go to start.
The "test field" :-)

we walked 2,0 hours about to reach this place...

Jarno's bowie has a classic, evergreen design...

I used two different options to carry the knife, both were comfortable in my opinion

http://img341.imageshack.us/img341/1889/dscf67131.jpg (http://img341.imageshack.us/i/dscf67131.jpg/)
a sunny, warm day...
http://img692.imageshack.us/img692/6418/dscf67081.jpg (http://img692.imageshack.us/i/dscf67081.jpg/)
a roe deer was here, early this morning probably
http://img708.imageshack.us/img708/8582/dscf67251.jpg (http://img708.imageshack.us/i/dscf67251.jpg/)
several times we need to cross the "river"...this time was easier due to the "bridge" :lmao:
http://img203.imageshack.us/img203/229/dscf67221.jpg (http://img203.imageshack.us/i/dscf67221.jpg/)
chopping time, this branch was 3"1/2 diameter or so

http://img98.imageshack.us/img98/4402/dscf67291.jpg (http://img98.imageshack.us/i/dscf67291.jpg/)
batoning and preparing wood fire...
http://img521.imageshack.us/img521/6548/dscf67301.jpg (http://img521.imageshack.us/i/dscf67301.jpg/)
http://img130.imageshack.us/img130/2411/dscf67441.jpg (http://img130.imageshack.us/i/dscf67441.jpg/)
I used my homemade firestarter to light the fire

http://img695.imageshack.us/img695/4563/dscf67461.jpg (http://img695.imageshack.us/i/dscf67461.jpg/)
time to leave...sure the fire was out :-)
http://img215.imageshack.us/img215/1268/dscf67541e.jpg (http://img215.imageshack.us/i/dscf67541e.jpg/)
at home, clean the blade with water was sufficient...
http://img514.imageshack.us/img514/3705/dscf67551.jpg (http://img514.imageshack.us/i/dscf67551.jpg/)
http://img707.imageshack.us/img707/6186/dscf67561.jpg (http://img707.imageshack.us/i/dscf67561.jpg/)
All in all a fine blade, light, but sufficently rough when needed.
Hope you enjoi! Ciao from Italy!!
