I've just got myself a Source water carrier from Lurch, are they okay for hot water like the Platypus' ones ?

I couldn't see any mention of hot liquids on the labels.

I'll try it tonight and post back on Monday if you want. I've got an old one that I don't use anymore as the tube outlet started to snap off near the end of a long walk (about 45miles if you were curious what long meant) so I can always test the materials for hot water.

What sort of level of hot water BTW, boiling or just slightly warm, the sort of warmth you get from say a large tea urn? I have seen a few people ask for hot water in their platys before now on challenge walks. The source bladders are supposed to have more glass like insides (not the material but the material type called glassy). Its plastic of course so not a truly glassy structure but its what the marketing idiots use to make it sound something special on the swing tags and packaging.

The reason I ask is because I sometimes use a Platypus for a hot water bottle in the hammock when it below freezing. By hot I suppose I mean boiled and then left a few minutes. If it's locally sourced water from a stream etc, I then get a safe fresh drink for the morning too.

I'd guess it would be ok but I'll check based on what you said. Boil the water then let it stand for a minute or two.

Will report back Monday (others will probably have answered before then but now harm in a practical test).
