Just finished work on what will be my new camp axe. Its a Norlund hatchet, one of the small ones about 1lb I think havent weighed it. I bought it of Ebay last year and have cleaned it up, reprofiled the edge and fitted a new handle.
Tried it today before it got dark, cuts and splits well so I am really pleased:D
Sorry for the dread full pics

It's not the thumbs you want to watch ,it's the fingers.I speak from experience.

Peter, Its a new handle, I cut down a full size handle. I know I could have made one but this was a nice bit of wood and I dont think I could have got the shape as I wanted it. I like a straight handle but for comfort it needs to bend a bit at the butt.
I have a Gb and I like it but I wanted something different.
