Seeing your in Aberdeenshire Dave is not so close, another option is Owen Bush who runs an excellent bladesmithing school in South London, don't know of anyone up your way.

don't let distance put you off. The last chap in my workshop drove for two days from the very north of Scotland to come for a course :D
