Mesquite

Well the Herts meet went ahead despite the arctic like conditions.
A small group of us each night but we really enjoyed ourselves and it was good to see the children enjoying themselves as well. Saturday night was especially good as the scouts held their annual carol service and Jasons wife did us a beef stew, containing a bottle of red wine and half a bottle of port and it was superb. Way too much for all of us to eat (due to Jasons cricket ball sized dumplings :D )
I'd like to thank Dave for organising it and Jasons wife for the stew.
Here's some pics from the weekend

The cooking arrangements. The stand can be bought from Ronnie Sunshines (http://www.ronniesunshines.com/bushcraft-cooking-dutch-ovens-c-31_68.html?osCsid=c8331c83fb60 6a1568e1459fb88f299c) (currently out of stock). You can see in the picture that Jason modded it by fitting extendable legs so it can cook over rasied fires like this one
