With all this talk about Lowe Alpine military sacks lately I thought it a good idea to post this....

I think they are the same thing and I remember reading on www.militaryphotos.net that Dutch packs were made by Lowe.

Some more photos....

It is the LA Sting as used by Dutch forces. I got one when I saw them on Endy's website.

It's a nice basic piece of kit: one main compartment, large pocket in the lid, zips along the side to fit PLCE pouches. The back support is just a floppy sit mat so there's no rigidity to the structure, but it can be used as a sit mat and stops the majority of stuff poking you in your back (which, of course, depends on your own packing ability).

It'd be nice if it had some MOLLE straps on it, but if wishes were fishes...

Doh!

It's not the Sting at all (Claudiasboris slaps himself for his kit mistake)!

It's the LA Strike: 40 litres, compared to the 55 of the Sting.

Still a good deal though. Mine didn't come with LA side pockets, but I did purchase a PLCE side pocket with the sac. Interestingly, all the webbing straps are DPM as well as the main body (if you find that kind of kit factoid interesting). I haven't used it properly yet, just carried bits and pieces around camp, but I'm quite happy with it.

Many apologies for the schoolboy blunder. I abase myself in shame...
