View Full Version : Jackets, making them yourself
Dunno if this is in the right section or not but? ive got an idea for a jacket but ive no skills to make it myself like some of you talented types on here.Anyone know if their are companys or even individuals who would make custom jackets/clothing to others designs ect.
I can give you contacts for individuals......how complex is your design and do you want it hand or machine sewn? Have you sourced materials and notions?
Toddy
Hi Toddy,no i've not sourced the materials yet,iam really still in the early design stage at the moment.I wouldent say its that complex of a design but its just a little different in the design of the hood, cuffs and pockets. Its to be a duel purpose jacket, shooting and bushcrafting/walking.

Get a copy of your local free adds.... I bet there are people who do alterations of bridle gowns and other clothing.... give them a ring and ask, most are excellent seamstresses and probably make clothes for the familily and other people on the side. If its local you can get measured properly and help with any questions they may have about your design/material. It will also probably be cheaper than going to a specialist custom outdoor clothing manufacturer.......
