flatbed

This is the first knife that i have ever made from scratch. I started with 12 mm (1/2 inch) thick carbon steel rod, heated, hammered, tempered and annealed it. After that i sharpened the blade and made the handle. Sheath was also handmade by yours truly. It was fun and educational weekend, i must attend this kind of activities more often.
The blade is extremely sharp, and quite durable.
Next time i will propably make more decorated knife, but this time i decided to make a simple but functional knife.
