Ok It matters not a jot but to satisfy my curiousity can anyone identify the maker of this blanket I picked up in a charity shop? Theres no label but by the way it sets off my allergy it's probably pure wool.

Tom, I can't identify it -- the stripe pattern is unusual. But the edge binding looks extremely nice and it appears to be a quality blanket.

It's too bad you have a wool allergy, I practically live in the stuff. It's my favorite material.

You can always send the blanket to me :)

HBC

And every other bugger will want one now (and claim it's just THE best thing ever and how they couldn't imagine using anything else) because of Ray.

Not really. Well, yes, the comment about everyone wanting/claiming a HBC blanket is true enough. But I don't know if your blanket is one. I made that bit up.

It's not a bad allergy, I'm even OK with wool clothes so long as someone gives them a good shake before I put them on. Unfortunately untill the mid 80s my folks used wool blankets and thought I was this huge sickly child with a permanent cold, then we got sythetic fibre duvets and my world changed!

Um thoses were the days when they didn't assume everything was a allergy!

I'm even fine with blankets , if I drop a piriton before hand. Infact I better do that as I am being a big nesher today and staying in to turn the used Whitney blanket into a blanket shirt rather than braving the winds

Anybody know where i can download a copy of the HBC label so I can print off a few... ;-{D)

PS would happily swap one of the unused yellow Whitneys for a few yards of unbleached flax linen to make shirts!
