Hi All

When i last sharpend my woodlore i put it away for a while. Then i used it for the first
time yesterday and to my horror i was scraping some timber and the sharp part of the blade edge has little bits that have curled up as though the blade edge is to thin ?.
Can any one shed some light on this please.

That sounds like a wire created from the sharpening, did you strop it after ?

If it has got a wire from sharpening, give it fifty licks on each side, then ten alternate and then see how it is.

always best to strop 01, as the steel has a very fine micro structure.
