View Full Version : northern scotland in october
i'm off up north in october & going to to get out for a couple of days. i was wondering what would be available for foraging (if anything), i know nothin of fungi so looking for the safe options i.e berries, roots etc.
cheers!
probably not as north as your going but was out for a wee stroll with the mutt yesterday and around here, plenty of elderberries, smattering of brambles, some beechnuts (and a pocket of gravybones ;) ) wasn't looking too much as was with in-laws and trying to make sure an ever-increasing-pregnant wife wasn't struggling on.
ta verloc, i should hopefully be catching some fish so i should be ok, congrats on the impending bearn & i hope the in-laws are not stereotypical!! i've landed ok with that one, i'll just see whats kicking about when i get there.
cheers!!
