Hi all I am wondering what makers make bushcraft style knives. Something similar to the woodlore would be nice. I am also wondering who makes the woodlore and at what price?
I am really looking for a maker that will put a flat ground blade on a bushcraft style knife.
I have a Allan Blade just looking for other makers for future knives.
Please post contact info, websites, pics, whatever.
Thanks.
Geoffrey.
Hi Geoff, if you have a Allan Blade bushcrafter you probably have a knife thats good enough and certainly one thats well worth the money.
The factory woodlores are made by wilkinson sword look at there website - the hand made one is made by allan woods but you'll be an old man by the time you get one of those going by current trends.
Bison Bushcraft make a selection of fine knives - again hand made and their is a waiting list for these too.
The mora classic and clipper are to economical knives of high regard, you can also use the blades to make your own knife.
Anyway I am sure others have their own personal preferences but I think any of the above are the best knives for bushcraft (some more than others) so you pays your money you takes your choice.
Roger Linger makes some truly excellent bushcraft knives:

Dan AKA ZDP-189 has turned pro maker. His scandies seem really nice. This is the one he made for me

Hi Geoffrey
J.& Tess Neilson of mountain hollow
make great knives j does stunning work and will do what ever you want
I second that on J and Tess. J has helped me learn knifemaking and Tess has made some wonderful sheaths for me to send on to my customers. I think Tess is mostly now only making sheaths for J's knives now though.
