Been looking on here for quite a while & decided to take the plunge!! Even paid for Full Membership - don't know what came over me!

I'm a Sassenach living under cover in deepest Fife. Been brought up on camping in the Lakes & just really discovering the Highlands. I'm not exactly Grizzly Adams re bushcraft - more like narky shortarse but I'm trying to go a bit more basic. I've even bought a Kelly Kettle & something to do feather sticks with!!

This is a very informative site & I'm looking forward to learning a few things.

Cheers

Hi,

I was in Crail last week, had the kelly kettle going on the beach on the way to Fife Ness. I also recommend the chain walk at Elie. Park at Shell Bay, thru the caravan site, then kelly stop on elie sands, lots of driftwood, then retrun.

Its where a new forum member joins, and becomes a full member in under two days of joining that they must then do a bimble to be part of the community, this usually involves walking over a bed of hot coals, walking through a hall of swinging moras, ducking Gransfor axe traps, and then makeing an acceptable brew, and demonstrating fire lighting techniques, naw only kidding, welcome to the forums!

Hi para106 - welcome to the forum

A bimble is an annoying word that describes "bimbling around in the woods, looking at stuff/fauna/flora around you and generally looking suspicious to passers by".

lol. :) that's pretty much it.

the East Neuk is cool right enough, but you've got the whole Falkland area to play in, and the Lomond hills, and Loch Leven...

Yip, some interesting caves and crags abound there, Carlin Maggie etc. And the wee hill behind Scotlandwell is worth a wander.
