View Full Version : hammocks v1.2
is there any other types of hammocks that people would recommend other than the eco sleep system one and a henssey one ??
Hmmmm, Pods ... http://www.bushkit.com/pages/propod.htm
they look good m8 any chance of a reataler ?? :?:
oops nvm that lol just found them
what are you looking for willie? haveyou some feature in mind you want but havent seen?
hmm not really i was just looking for a plain kinda o.d hammock which was relitively cheap :?: and i could find in the uk
Silvermans do a couple http://www.military.co.uk/ also nomad travel do a nice simple one which can be used with a basha, used one in borneo very good, its an envelope design http://www.nomadtravel.co.uk/store/customer/home.php?cat=420 . any good??
Here's my current favorite:
I own both models, and they're nicely made and work perfectly. I like the fact that during the day you can turn them over, leaving the net on the bottom, and use them like an open hammock.
lol i hav the sas hammock in silvermans but i thot it to be to thin as it is like a stretcher :-? but i was looking at the jungle musqito hammock in trek direct and it looks pritty good
Phone them and ask about the sas one, ask to speak to richard he will know the score or PM Dave Bliss he has one coming for Crimbo.
does anyone know of a uk shop who do the whole hennessy range?

ye ty ive been there but they aint getting them till "next year" which i dont know when and i dont hav credit card so dont know how i could buy it lol
willie hammock disscussion in chat.. be there or be square! :nana:
The best hammock I have ever tried is the Fox Hammock with the Fox Mosquito Net. Simple, effective and very comfortable! the Mozzie net can also be used over a single bed or cot bed.
In the same vain, the best most well thought out tarp is the Fox Jungle Bash. No needless seams, fully reinforced it even has pockets in the corners to tuck the guy ropes in! When combined with the hammock and net noting protrudes out of the 'Dry zone' and everything is where it needs to be.
Just my thoughts
For info on different hammocks, have a look on www.hikinghq.net. Most won't be available from retailers here, but you could order from the US if something catches your eye.
