View Full Version : Has anyone used wanderingblade.co.uk?
Just wondering if anyone has ever ordered from there guys? They're a devon based company according to the website but it says all products are shipped from the US so you'd end up paying hidden customs charges on top probably. It seems a strange way of doing things but they're a lot cheaper than other companies.

You might search for information about him on British Blades. I am sure he was a member on there and if so, there should be some feedback from customers.

100% recommended any time indeed. proper gent ;)
I might do that. I'm just concerned about what costs I'm likely to have to pay on top of an order.
I know parcel force have a habit of holding import parcels to ransom which apparently is illegal but there you go.

There is a bigger potential problem than merely paying the Parcel Farce ransom. Check over on BB about a certain Customs Inspector confiscating knives deemed to be "gravity / flick" knives.
Best bet though is to contact Mike and see what he says. After all, it is his business.

I just received an order from Crazy Creek in Montana and was surprised and delighted to find no vat, import duty or Parcel Force handling charge! http://i666.photobucket.com/albums/vv29/helixpteron/happy0054.gif
Perhaps ask the seller for advice on whether or not there may be additional import related costs.
The alleged actions of the HMC&E officer are ultra vires!
I'm curious as to why no one appears to have legally challenged the decision/actions.
If its under around £110 including postage costs you will pay nothing now I believe.

Hello!
I'll be happy to help out with whatever you are after. If you don't get an immediate reply to messages sent direct via the site please PM me here as I've been having 'issues' with the web sites messaging service lately. (yes, ok - I broke something!)
As for VAT / import duty - there are no hidden costs, both the 'orders' page and the 'terms and conditions' page have full details of these.
Regarding one-handed openers, at the moment we have had very few problems as our US warehouse is happy to tighten pivot screws before shipping but as some seizures are for rather debateable reasons then caution is required when importing from anyone. I've recently dropped the Benchmade brand as the Axis lock seemed to be attracting particular attention.

That new limit only applies to import duty NOT vat!

Still, the last time I checked, the import duty on knives was about 8.5%, which went on the value of the knife, and the cost of the postage, and then had the VAT slapped on top, so it sure isn't something to be sneezed at. I am glad to say that was news to me :)
Cheers!
