It looks like I may be in Brazil for some time next year, so I'm wondering if anyone else has been there. Is it worth buying clothing beforehand or is it freely available over there. I would think that the latter is true, given the abundance of rainforest, and it's more likely to be cheaper there. Any advice?

Wear old trampy stuff mate, the posher your kit the more likely your going to get turned over. carry your money in a money belt next to your skin and only have a small amount of cash in your pocket. Also get a lonely planet guide, these books are a god send :biggthump
