LOoks like it's a Corinus Atrementarius (common inkcap)

not sure i found it on grass no trees it had a small cluster around it and the about a foot away it was circled all the way round with smaller ones if this helps.

It's definatley of the Coprinus genus (ink caps), habitat found in includes grass areas such as parks, gardens etc as well as woodland.

Bad reaction if eaten whilst alcohol is in the system and as with all inkcaps they should not be eaten if they have started to degrade.

IIRC it's also known as the antabuse mushroom - it has very similar effects if you drink alcohol a couple of days either side of eating it! Apart from that it is said to be edible but personally I've never risked it.
