OK folks. I love these threads that Red started, and I see loads of dead stuff when out on my bimbles, so I thought I'd share. I actually saw this just after the kill and saw the predator. I need the name of the pred and the prey. The location was a steep riverbank and the time was about 1400 hrs....

Well done Red

Any particular reason why a Mink would take the head first ?

Just come back from a week on Mull, seemingly the place is overrun with the little darlings  , took a few photos of 4 different animals, turned out they were all Mink, not Otters as I first thought, wrong shape and movement, which is why I checked, did get the proper chap the next day though :D.

The location where I took the moley picture is home to both otter and mink. They co-habit quite well together there, which is unusual according to other reports I've heard.
