Have been lurking on the forum for some time. My interest stems from having attended a Basic Survival Course run by Eddie McGee in the late seventies. I’m a bit of a dilettante when it comes to Bushcraft, more Bic lighter, than firesteel and striker.

Not to worry. In the bush its BiC for me and i suspect for most others too.. All that bowdrill and firesteel stuff is for the garden thouigh I have tried it in the jungle but not under duress
