guys i have the standerd issue british army bivii bag and was wondering if there was a solution to the draw strings that you pull tight to stop the water getting in being a bit stiff to pull
or am i doing it wrong
advice please drew
Have an extra Weeabix in the morning Drew....
TBH though, I have never bothered using the draw strings on mine. I always rig a tarp for overhead protection, and wriggle down into the bivvy bag if the wind is really howling, but leave the neck of the bivvy bag open.
Works for me.

You could pull it out and replace it with some 550 drew. I don't bother cinching it up normally though.
Drew, bring it to the next meet and we'll form a task party and get it fastened real snug and tight for you:D
Don't worry though we'll let you out when the meet finishes:lmao: ;)

Cable ties and bungee cord should keep him snug:D

Duct tape is a good one as well and adds extra waterproofing to the bag as well :D

Rub some candle wax on the cord. We do this on tenon saws, planes, saw tables etc at school.

cheers nick not a bad idea
I don't tend to bother drawing it up, I also use it upside down so that the massive flap goes over the top of my head and keeps everything dry.

I replaced the flat string with round para cord and unpicked some of the stitching to give it more room. It improved but wasn't perfect.
