The reason the site still exists:
the disused sludge drying beds - these are haven for wild life, there are roe deer just out of shot

The acid pond - it is a natural spring that has been ponded since the medival nunnery was on site. Then in the 1920s - 1970s it supplied cooling water forthe sulphuric acid plant on site (or i'm told). Wick with frogs and toads

Now, I need a close up - but I'm suspecting the trail is made by by "The beast of Solihull"
From the proliferation of sign I would say an older member - Series certainly...3?
Given the length of the track I would estmate a female (SWB)
Red
BR - close but it was a pack of them:
Firstly a 300tdi Defender (formers vehicle) - the odd drip
2.5TD 90 now gone, but never leaked!!!!!! And there was oil in it
and the 300TDi Discovery - mostly this one as I missed the collection pan when changing the oil. Mostly it got me and the floor.
Plus SWMNBO Festa from time to time. But only when it has oil, mostly it has grease in the engine as it is never service and oil gets sorted when the warning light comes on - damn thing keeps on going though, done 130 000 milles in 9 years
Nice pics and woods. Ive been in that pub for a pint.
Similar tracks like that around here, thanks for the info :D
Nice pics Ed
I'll have to try and get over for that bimble soon
