Any ideas?

Hi I found this last week on dead birch, any ideas as to what it is?

Its approx 12cm in height very soft and squidgy, looks like lots of small eggs clustered together.

Its one of them wierd slime mold things again. It is proberly an enteridium lycoperdon.

Thanks for that :) I think I found it here (http://mushroomania.com/) near the bottom; Life Stages of Reticularia lycoperdon. Interesting stuff on Wikipedia too.
