Hi
I see there is a OG SASS Smock on ebay- I have a kit Karry one and wondered if anyone had one of these 'like ventile' type jackets.

I have one and its a very good bit of kit.
Mine is double layered on the hood shoulders & elbows and single layer everywhere else.
It cost me £135 new from SSAS and they made it to my specs (extra pockets extra).
Thoroughly recommended.

Like wise but got it a little cheaper when they had an offer.
To be honest I love it! A little bit warm for summer but for autumn and winter I wear it all the time, only putting goretex on very rarely when there is no chance of getting gear dry.
Whether its a good as ventile I dont know but works very well.

If so it looks more like an Arktis jacket, still pretty good but not quite SASS standard!
If you buy one, would you do a review? I'd like one, but never really trust the ebay adverts for 'real world' charecteristics!

made of ripstop not the stuff sass use. this is a copy of there jacket. You can pick up 2 issue windproofs for that money and set about one on the sewing machine to get what you want or better.
SASS rocks the jackets are very well made ,
I have an OG ventile smock from them, pre clone cloth , love it ,
allso a set of shirt and trousers in the clone cloth , very comfy .
used then for years , no problems .

I think this jacket is made by Kombat Kit who sell it on......
Having alreayd got a genuine Kit Karry by SASS and reading everyones threads i Think i may stick to SASS!!- but thanks for info
