I don't want to vote as I'm unlikely to buy another knife soon. However, when I was on holiday on Minorca a couple of years ago, I bought an olive wood spoon and it was was a lovely piece of wood. Until my mother in law inadvertantly put it into the dishwasher, and now it looks as though it's spent a few years on the beach.
