Just received my new custom knife from Mick Spain and thought I'd share it here :D
It's 20.5cm long, blade is 10cm long, scandinavian 25 degeree flat grind. Made from 3mm 01 steel to 58/59HRC. Scales are extreme curly birch with black liners, soaked in polymer then tung oil and polished with renaissance wax. Nickel silver and brass bolts and a brass lanyard tube.
Mick even made a matching firesteel as a surprise at no extra cost :)
Now to make a sheath.......

Lucky fellow!
Mick Spain does manage to fit some fine pieces of timber for the handles. This one looks very nice too.

Curly birch is my favourite handle wood - really warm and well patterned.
I went for 3mm to try a slightly thinner blade than the normal clone knife - I'll report back!

That's lovely... I've had one of Micks and his workmanship is exceptional.
I hope it gives you many years of service.

I think you'll find it a better all rounder ;)
Correct me if I'm wrong please.

What clone knife??
Woodie clone - 4mm thick, handle shape/size are also different and blade profile isn't the same; thought I'd try a variation and Mick seems to have captured it very well. :D
