I've aquired some puritabs from MRE's but there's no instructions with them. Has anybody got any idea how much water one will purify?
I always thought it was one tablet per bottle, which is a litre... Isn't it....?

IIRC the instructions were printed on the strip of tablets, but 1 tablet/litre sounds about right

What it says on the side of the packet is "Fill plastic water bottle with water, add one tablet, shake, leave for 15 minutes before drinking"
So I suppose my question should have been "What size of bottle?"

You say MRE's are these the American rations or the british Compo (which is going more like the US MRE's) with the British tabs it was one tab per Ltr bottle (58 water bottle) but I always put 2 in just to make sure as that welsh water we were drinking on the training areas can never be trusted.

The Bomb-Proof UK Military Water Bottle if the tabs are UK Military Puritabs

Might want to add some form of flavouring though to take the edge off

Might want to add some form of flavouring though to take the edge offbut wait half an hour before you add it if it contains vitamin-C as this will stop the puritabs working
