View Full Version : Silk Baselayers - am I mistaken?

Spent much of the weekend in the garden and, due to the cold (especially yesterday!) I dug out an ancient Silking silk top that I used to use over 20 years ago. It was cosy warm and relatively windproof. This led me to thinking that you used to be able to get green Swedish army silk tops - or did you? Has senility clouded my memory?

I'd quite like to find some new silk baselayers but all I can find are black or navy. I am sure that the Swedish ones (or were they Norwegian?) were olive green. Of course, I might have been dreaming...

Anyone know if there are OG silk baselayers out there?

I use silk quite a bit it's great. The stuff I'm currently using is black I'm afraid and I bought it of E-bay getting it shipped over from China. I don't think they did OG but it might be worth a try

I got some green ladies stuff from an ebay seller, but otherwise it seems to be black, navy or the like from folks like Patra.
If there's od stuff out there......

cheers,

Try these:

I haven't tried them myself. You might also want to consider Merino Wool thermal wear.

Why is the colour OG important?

Why is the colour OG important?

Not all that impoortant, I suppose - I just like to look unobtrusive and blue is about the worst colour to wear as there isn't much "natural" blue around (OK - the sky - but I don't get to float about in it much:) ). I think I'll probably go for the black as suggested above.
