This is a fantastic thread by, and about one man's passion to design and build an ultralight version of the Kelly/Storm/Volcano Kettle.

Self taught aluminium spinning, mandrel forming and draughtsmanship, building a machine shop on the balcony of his 1 bedroom flat, this is a true labour of love.

I hope you enjoy this current project as much as I do.

I've been watching this for awhile myself. Was waiting to see the final product before posting a link though. Glad news of the project has made it here though. Very impressive workmanship. Has me thinking I must be able to do something with an old copper hot water tank to fabricate a Bengazi boiler.

I think some maker could do an alumium or titatnium version as light as possible and with a 500ml capacity for solo light backpacking, sure a best seller............I should be one that would buy one.
