I am curious whether anyone has gathered seafood especially razor clams off the fife coast. Im curious about the best techniques and best locations for it locally. Anyone enlighten an enthusiastic amateur?

Thanks

Every sandy beach particulalry closer to the low water mark for more of them. Burntisland, Aberdour, Kinghorn all the way up and St Andrews or Kinshaldy even better!

Try the salt trick or get a hand pump. It's all down to technique!

I do like Spoots, lightly sautéd in butter and garlic - yum!

I have always failed abysmally to catch any razor clams. Salt method or not. Limpets they're easy, and taste lovely when cooked just right.

I used to collect these as a kid on low tide Gower beaches and loved them. Now you hardly ever see them anywhere for sale (and i no longer live by the sea). yet, when I go to Barcelona with a bunch of kids each year, I find they are on every tapas menu going. And they're dead cheap. I bet half of them come from the UK.
