Had a spare chalk bag for climbing lying around, was going to bin it as I'm trying to clear out some space but its actually ideal for keeping kit in, hangs on you belt but lower than your rucksack so doesn't get in the way.

So far it has:
Compass
SAK
Firesteel
Torch
Pen
Snares
Small bag (crabbing, etc.)
Potassium Permanganate
Magnifying Glass

I'm also keeping a Bandana in there. Really surprised at how much fitted in the bag and theres still space for more.

Damn thing seems like the Tardis when you're putting stuff into it.

Maybe I should ask my mum to make another chalkbag then
the first one was so much fun (she made it and left out something which she decided was just for looks, I pointed out it was very much needed so a major design rethink took place. It was still finished in time for christmas though)

Good call!
I don't wanna use mine though - it's got chalk in it! :o): I'll just use my housemates. He doesn't climb enough to deserve to use it anymore.

My other one has chalk in it, this one was an impulse buy when YHA were closing down, was on offer so I just thought what the hell... didn't actually think that I really don't need another one. Its been sat on a shelf for about 6 months

So Lithril, I'm down the road in Bournemouth  if you were thinking of throwing the chalk bag away, just what did you throw away? :yikes:
