Discovered site by accident a while ago and have been hooked ever since. I'm Chris, a self-employed gardener with a degree in Earth and Planetary Science. I've been into bushcraft since I was a kid but didn't know it was called that until RM first appeared on Tracks! I've done quite a few Woodlore courses - the last one in 2001.
My particular interests include primitive technology, fishing, hunting and trapping, and the uses of trees and plants as foods, medicines etc. My tribal homeland is down here in Sussex where I am in easy reach of the woods, the sea and Chichester harbour.
When I travel, I go north - mainly to the arctic or sub-arctic (Hi arctic hobo, fellow Chris and lone traveller!). I've made journeys of various lengths in northern Scandinavia, Iceland, Greenland, Canada and Alaska - mainly on foot but occassionally by canoe and less frequently, and for shorter distances by dog-sled, ski and snow shoe. I've also spent a little time with northern native people, mainly in Canada. This year I've made flying visits to Orkney, Shetland, Faroe, Iceland, Greenland and Newfoundland. Did I say I've also got a very understanding wife! Well, that's me.

Keep you nose in the wind and you eyes along the sky-line.
