Hello :D and welcome here. I live about 9 miles from the town, and there are a fair number of others around too.
Check up the Out and About forum and the Scotland North, there are friendly meet ups happening pretty close to you.
cheers,

Want to come to a wee meet in Ayrshire/D&G border?
It's this weekend,i'm sure the landowner won't mind,it's his ground btw.
Honestly it's nothing serious but you can have some great fun.

Hi Korpayne, welcome to the site. There's plenty of very friendly and well-informed bushcrafters in and around the Glasgow area and Scotland in general. Best thing to do is just join right in and have some fun.
Howdy Korpayne, come on in the waters lovely, shame you can't make the meet maybe next time eh?

Hi Phil,
There's a lot of us around Glasgow as Andy said. So dont worry too much about transport in the first instance. Similarly the nagging doubts over kit/ whats best/ embarrassing etc.. We have all been there, and quite a few of us have more than one set of stuff. So if you want to borrow something to try it-- Just ask.
Whereabouts do you live? Im in Craigton.

Not Wales then:lmao:
Welcome Phil.
Definitely try and get along to one of the Scottish meets. The folk here are even friendlier when out in the woods.

Welcome to the forum Korpayne :)
I'm in Glasgow too, not far from you in Baillieston. I couldn't make the meet at Morchs either but hoping to go in the future too, plenty of room in my car if you need a lift then.
Stuart.
Hi there,
Welcome to BcUK, as you've seen there are lots of people around up here, and some of them even friendly.. ;) There is a wealth of knowledge here and everyone is more than willing to share it.Sure, sometimes debates can get a little heated but thats usually down to misunderstanding than anything unpleasant, since most communication we use comes from body language and tone of voice, it can be easy to not quite get what someone is meaning. Don't let the few odd threads that go a bit weird put you off. After all we are here to learn more about this great hobby, those that share it and ourselves.
I'm sure that you'll have plenty to contribute yourself, even if you think you are relatively new to bushcraft, your life experiences will have given you probably more readiness than you think, it's all matter of perspective, and best viewed at when sharing a camp fire with a few like minded souls.. :D
