I was after a new pair of boots as well - sick and tired of those black SWAT Hi-tec Magnum boots.

Had a look at a pair of these in the Swindon branch on Weds - they seemed somewhat less than supportive and I'm not sure the outer would stand up to much, it's very light fabric.

As a lightweight hi leg boot they have plenty support, been wearing mine all day! As for fabric, it's ballistic nylon, now that could mean anything but it looks like cordura or something similar and for £27 if it lasts me a winter I'm happy!
For those that want tough and more support, they have leather karimor and brasher boots in for between £50-60 a pair, which is a real baragain!
They have loads of trekmates stuff in too, first aid kits, walking poles etc. Some really good bargains for xmas.

Bugger. They only have a size 8 and size 10.5 pair. I'm normally a 9, though I would've bought a 10. But 10.5 was just too big. They had a much thicker sole than I expected, and wasn't overly keen on - I like a bit more flexibility to the sole.
Still, I'll give it a few days and have another look.
