I'm convinced that somewhere out there it is possible to still get what I think of as a standard, old-fashioned pocket knife. So, can anyone suggest something to fit the following (flexible) requirements:

 Available easily in the UK.

 Carbon steel.

 Two blades preferred.

 Stag or similar scales.

 Sow belly shape would be great, but that's just me being awkward.

 Non-locking design.

Any thoughts, chaps?

Check out the Case knives on bkcg.co.uk

They seem to be pretty much what you're looking for. Not cheap though.

Ouch! I see what you mean about the prices. Not being a collector so much as a user I can't see myself parting with sixty quid or more for something as easy to misplace as a pocket knife, although for a fixed blade woods knife I'd consider that a bargain. Still, they are rather tempting... Thanks for the link, George.

Try Joe at

Very good prices and huge stock.
His website is still under construction and so things are still being organised. Case folding knives seem to be on the Camillus page. £18 for the 2 Blade Trapper, £20 for the 3 Blade Premium Stockman.

I've had very quick replies to email enquiries.

Hope this helps

Oh dear... I think I'm beginning to sympathise with all the knife nuts on this site.

Thanks all for the links, which look as if they'll keep me occupied for some time.

This was going to be my advise as well. Sargey is one step ahead of me, at least, as usual.
