View Full Version : American Hobo inspired by Wayland
I have been lurking here for some time and enjoy this forum but have had little to contribute till now.
I would like to thank Wayland for the inspiration for a hobo stove I put together.
I can't seem to post pics here so I am including a link to another site that I have posted them on.
Thank you.
Andrew

Welcome to the forum Bigox. That's a nice hobo stove you've made :)

yes, nice stove! i presume you cant get the billy lid off cause the wire bale comes together when weight is on it, so can you fashion a spacer rod to hold the two sides apart?
a stick with two notched ends might do it at a pinch >----------< the weight of the pot and friction should be enough to keep it in place. i guess you might be carrying a knife to improvise such items from handy bits of wood?

Nice! That's single handedly convinced me to make one myself. I'm unashamedly going to rip off the design too!
Would this be the same canister you used for the stove? It's 15.5cm x 12.5cm

Hi Bigox
Welcome to the forum.
Glad you liked the idea, I'm thoroughly enjoying everybody else's variations on the theme and keep tinkering with my own as I see new ideas.
What you can do is link pictures in with the little picture icon at the top of the advanced reply box like this.
