Still looking for a bushcraft knife, all seems abit confusing, gonna have to decide soon the one i have a Normark like a frost mora has went abit funny, think its a laminated blade
Opinel and SAK of course
For me, it's:
Skookum Bush Tool
Gransfors SFA
Laplander saw
and, if I'm feeling like it, a Gransfors Mini hatchet
All a bit mainstream, I'm sorry to say...

Your second combo is the one i'd go for :D
Bernie
I've got too much choice, so I take what I feel like at the time, plus a few spares if it's a meet! :D

For me:
Cegga or SFA
Bernie Garland Damascus bushy, WS Woodlore, Shing or Stu M knife (a choice)
UKPK or Eka Masur folder
Laplander
Stu M Baby bushy, Stu B or Aly bladed Jedadiah neck knife
Though I do have several other choices, I'm a bit of a 'holic when it comes to edged tools (must be from my late dad who collected (and used) engineering tools).

Nice one Shep, good to see you are still making things.
Is that the same knife from the Bushcraftsman course?

Yup, it's the same one going strong, though it's on it's second sheath. I've made quite a few since, but this one's mine for keeps (I've given up having any shame in the lack of design originality!)

I got mine from someone on British Blades but it's one of these (http://knivsmia.karport.no/index.php?option=com_content&task=blogcategory&id=52&Itemid=67) and I think nthere are some UK sellers.

Some mighty tasty equipment in those photos!
For me it's:-
GB Axe - SFA or Wildlife depending on mood/which one I find first.
WS Micarta Woodlore, Helle Eggen or one of many Frosts, again depending on mood, where I'm going, what I'm doing etc.
A SAK with a saw, ie, Farmer, Huntsman, Hiker etc.
Bahco folding saw, like a Laplander but Blaze Orange handle rather than green and a shiny blade.
