Hello everybody, I am new to bushcraft (i started researching a couple of days ago) and would like to know some good topics for a complete beginer like me to look at. Also is there anything I really should know thats on this forum? Oh and what does it take/ what do I need to participate?

Welcome to the BCUK, main thing to learn is try, ask any questions and enjoy yourself. Is there any particular areas of Bushcraft that appeal to you? ie Foraging, Shelter making, Fire making/fire by friction, the list is endless, but if there is something in particular that started you on this trail, look at that and I can guarantee you'll be led on to something else...

Hello and welcome! If I should give someadvice on nice threads to read for a start it would be the one with bushcraft different from survival... I found that interesting to read first.

Thread here (http://www.bushcraftuk.net/community/showthread.php?t=4&highlight=question)

Mate, you don't need anything. :biggthump Questions: ask! Answers: post them! :pack: Stay safe.

i would say the best thing you could do was get your self some books.. check out RM's bushcraft and Mors Kochanski bushcraft, check out the BCUK Book Shop (http://www.bushcraftuk.net/bcukstore/books/main.php?category=blank)

A very warm welcome to you!

I'm sure you'll find lots of interest here. Perhaps one way to start is to go for a walk (in wilderness if you're lucky enough to have some nearby but a local park will be just as educational!) and think about what you might need to stay in that place for a day or so. You don't need to actually stay in this place, just start thinking about the answers to questions like where could I sleep here? how would i keep warm? where would I find water here? what kind of foods, such as blackberries, can I already identify? Then you can start to look for more answers on bushcraftUK (http://www.bushcraftuk.co.uk), in the forum and from books ...

The main thing to do is ask if you have any questions - there are so many friendly and knowledgable here, you're bound to find lots of answers very quickly!

Finding your feet on a forum can take a while, feel free to relax and take your time! You might want to read the guidelines on the forum (http://www.bushcraftuk.net/community/showthread.php?t=51) if you haven't already done so.

Enjoy! :-D
