Hello Everyone

I am a new member to the forum. Looks like a great place!

I see I have a bunch to read to get up to speed.I recognize some names, that is comforting.

I make handforged knives in my charcoal forge. I have alot of common interests with you. I would like to hear you opininons of my work. Thanks for any input. I will post some pics to see what you all think.

This knife is the Backcountry...4 1/2" blade,1/8" 1095..desert Ironwood scales...Scandi grind...grind gets higher near the tip...not much, but it aids in slicing.

Racquette, you're very welcome here - you'll find a great crowd, many of whom appreciate nice knives!

You should post pictures of your Nessmuk knives - I'm sure they'll get a great reception!

Hi Racquette, Welcome!

Very nice looking knife you have there, can't fault it from the picture! I like the thin handle (or comparitavely [sp!] thin).

Nice to see you over here Dale!

For those who want to see some more of Dale's work then head over to Racquette's forge (http://forums.outdoors-magazine.com/viewforum.php?f=13)
He does some realy beautiful pieces. One day I'll get myself an antler handled Nessmuk - by far and away my favourite of Dale's work!

Racquette makes real working knives. Not just for looks. I've been using one of his blades for nearly a year now and am extremely pleased. Don't be hesitant if you're interested in one. BTW I'll be testing the one posted here. I ordered it a couple of months ago and received it today. Looking forward to using it.
